Chris Wells

CHRIS WELLS is IMC’s Commercial Director and has many years' experience in international procurement, contracting, logistics, materials management and project management for the mining and engineering industries. He has been responsible for procurement, logistics, materials management, business development and project management on many major projects, including assignments in India, South Africa, Burundi, Spain, Sardinia, Indonesia, Iran, USA, Zambia, Ivory Coast, Tanzania, Egypt, Bolivia, Japan, Pakistan, South Korea and Bangladesh.

Arif Anwar

ARIF ANWAR is a director of IMC Group Consulting and head of the financial controlling department of DMT GmbH, Germany. He is a business economist with more than 20 years of experience in the chemical and mining industries. During his professional career he has carried out various due diligence reports and led mergers & acquisitions projects. He was also responsible for comprehensive restructuring projects in the mining sector. He has introduced processes to increase profitability and efficiency of mining engineering companies. He has been responsible for the financial control of international subsidiaries in Eastern Europe, USA, Australia, South Africa and various countries in South America.

Juergen Kowalewski

JÜRGEN KOWALEWSKI is a mining engineer with 32 years experience. He has been engaged as Project Manager for MC in numerous international assignments for feasibility studies, financial, technical, and environmental evaluations of mining exploration, construction and exploitation projects, particularly in the base metals and gold mining industry. He spent most of his career in long term assignments abroad in Chile, Peru, Spain, Thailand and Turkey as well as projects in Albania, Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Germany, Honduras, Indonesia, Norway and USA, where he also gained senior management experience in operations.

Udo Stoesser

UDO STOESSER is an Industrial Manager with over 30 years of professional experience in project management and economics. 25 years of which in senior positions. 12 years in the Russian Federation and 15 years in African countries (Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Sudan, Libya and Ethiopia). His international experience is supplemented by short term assignments to Latin America (Peru, Ecuador and Costa Rica). Mr. Stoesser has worked in numerous projects as Commercialisation Expert, Training Supervisor, Procurement Specialist and Energy Expert. As Project Manager he was responsible for staff training, fund management, commercialisation and rationalisation aspects, reorganisation and restructuring measures, including business planning.  As Tacis Project Director he has been entrusted with the overall responsibility for project implementation.

Howard Hind

HOWARD HIND is an electrical engineer whose expertise lies in the procurement, installation and commissioning of major electrical plant items with particular reference to safety and protective systems for mine hoists, haulages and conveying systems. He has been involved in project design, electrical and mechanical engineering feasibility studies, design and tender evaluation of engineering equipment proposals. He has gained wide experience of the Civil tunnelling engineering, base metals and coal mining industries in both underground and surface operations.

Nick Woodbyrne

NICK WOODBYRNE is a qualified mining engineer with international mining experience in Africa and Europe. He is currently developing a business and strategic plan for a new mining development in the Democratic Republic of Congo for an international company operating from India. Nick has also conducted a global review of the mining service sector for an investment company. He continues to be part of the business development team concentrating on expansion within Africa, Europe and the Far East.

FLORIAN BEIER is MC’s Senior Mining Engineer with 7 years experience in base metals, potash and coal mining industries. He has gained experience in both underground and surface operations and his expertise lies in mine planning, mine design, technical and economic evaluations of underground and open pit mining projects. He has been involved in feasibility studies, due diligence and tender evaluation of engineering equipment proposals. He is experienced in extraction and processing of base metals and various industrial minerals in Germany and abroad, working within Europe, Asia, South America and the CIS region.

Barry Edwards

BARRY EDWARDS is Managing Director of IMC Group Consulting Ltd. His expertise lies in Project Management, Procurement and Engineering experience in the UK and overseas in: USA, Iran, India, Ghana, Nigeria, Bangladesh and Pakistan. He has gained over 20 years’ experience of design, estimating, construction supervision and financial control of multi-disciplined engineering projects. He is experienced in Contract preparation, negotiation and claims assessment and settlement and expert witness. His experience includes project management using computer based financial and physical tracking and planning software. As Managing Director he is responsible for all company mining activities and projects.

John Warwick

JOHN WARWICK is the Mining Director of IMC and is a Chartered Engineer with over 30 years experience in all aspects of mining, general management, contracting and consulting. He has been Project Director for Competent Persons Reports and Due Diligence for stock market flotation’s and company sales assignments in several commodities including chrome, potash, phosphate, copper, nickel, iron ore, cobalt and coal operations. 
He is highly experienced in extraction and processing of base metals, coal and various industrial minerals in UK and overseas for whom he has worked in Ukraine, Russia, Czech Republic, Kosovo, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Bangladesh, Albania, Iran, South Africa, DR Congo, Kazakhstan, China, North Korea, USA, Indonesia and UK.

Peter Robinson

PETER ROBINSON is a Financial Analyst who has been involved in mining financial evaluations for stock market flotation’s and due diligence for companies raising finance for investment and mine purchases in both the UK and China, including the first successful listing outside China of a Chinese coal mining company.  He has been involved in a management assistance programme for a group of underground mines in India.  He has also been involved in the evaluation of the strategic plans of a major coal producer in South Africa and the evaluation of proposals in Russia on behalf of Australian and Japanese clients.

Michael Loos

MICHAEL LOOS is MC’s Principal Processing Engineer with 30 years of consulting and operating experience in all aspects of mineral and coal processing, mine related surface facilities, environmental studies and assessments. He has participated in a wide range of assignments in Bosnia Herzegovina, Botswana, Czech Republic, Egypt, Ghana, India, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Mauritania, North Korea, Pakistan, Poland, South Africa, Romania, Russia, Vietnam, Ukraine and Zambia as project manager, task manager or site manager. He has particular engineering experience in coal, iron ore, manganese ore, phosphate ore and rutile processing. Additionally he gained broad experience in coal market surveys and assessments.

David Foster

DAVID FOSTER is IMC's Principal Geologist and has over 34 years experience of exploration and mining geology specialising mainly in coal deposits.  Within IMC he leads the geological deposit modelling activities of the company and participates in projects both in the UK and overseas.  He is familiar with a wide range of geological and mine modelling software and has wide expertise in the assessment of reserves and resources.  He has worked extensively on numerous projects in the past 12 years in Spain, USA, United Arab Emirates, Poland, Montenegro, Ireland, Indonesia, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China and Russia as well as extensively in the UK.

Hakan Arden

Hakan Arden is IMC's Senior Geologist with over 20 years in the mining industry. He specialises in sedimentary deposits with international experience in sedimentary/mining geology, civil engineering and environmental studies. He has undertaken a number of projects including Geological and sedimentary models, Competent Person’s Reports and feasibility studies working within Europe, Australasia, South America and the CIS region.

 

Mike Richards

Mike Richards is IMC’s Senior Mining Engineer who has over 35 years of experience in the mining industry. His industrial experience was gained in the UK and South Africa before undertaking academic roles researching mining finance, condition monitoring of mining machinery and spontaneous combustion. He has a strong consultancy base in coal and metalliferous projects and has specialised in mining operations, feasibility studies, due diligence, risk analysis, mine safety issues, ventilation, spontaneous combustion and gas emission.
